If authors, who collaborate, can switch the transclusion on and off per document they are working on, they'd have more freedom and not interfere with volumns that transclude and should do so.
Otherwise, the property has to be set as user property (as it is designed for). This has the limitation that authors do not see any transclusion (including other spaces).
