Provide Common Type Property

Per default a Type property should point to the doctype's specific type.

Currently this property is provided by most doctypes, but not necessarily by this name. The doctype designer may choose to provide this information by any name. So it is not required to use this property, but should be used as default if no other option seems more appropriate.
