Bugzilla does not support types of issues per default. But due to the support of custom fields it is now easy to add such a property.
We find the following issue types useful.
Type | Category | Description |
---|---|---|
Bug | Story | A reported bug to be fixed. |
New Feature | Story | A new feature to implement. |
Change Request | Story | An existing feature that is to be changed so that it works in a different way. The old feature is replaced. |
Improvement | Story | An improvement of an existing feature. |
Task | Task | A task to be worked on. This includes anything that fits not in one of the categories above. Sometimes it may be useful to split a story in multiple tasks so that they can be worked on individually. Usually tasks do not appear in the release notes or the release plan. |
The category shows that most of the issues are user stories to be implemented. Only tasks are on the 'task' level.
